FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

It is a pretty simple step by step process to get started. Click HERE for those steps or CONTACT US to get started.

ARE YOU AN ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL?

Not only are we fully licensed, insured, and bonded, but we also have certifications through 'Pet Sitters International'. We take servicing our clients seriously and continue to add new certifications as they become available.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ATTENDING PLAYGROUP?

Play group offers the dog the chance to expel energy as well as socialize with other dogs in a safe environment. Dogs are social creatures and even if they aren't running around playing for the entire duration of play, they still benefit from socializing and being around other dogs.
Puppies especially benefit from learning social cues and behavior from the other dogs, who are constantly teaching each other. For humans, a huge benefit is for you to come home to a tired pup, both physically and mentally.

IS MY DOG REQUIRED TO HAVE A SET WEEKLY SCHEDULE?

We do give priority to those who have set, repeating weekly schedules, but any client is welcome to submit an add-on request for any days they may be interested in sending their dog to play. Hudson Hounds does its best to accommodate all requests, but there are instances where we will have to deny a request if we are already at full capacity for the day. The best way to ensure you aren't locked out of a particular day you are interested in is to have it part of your schedule or to submit your request as soon as possible.

THE YARD IS FENCED IN?

Yes, the yard is completely fenced in on all sides and the dogs are never left outside unsupervised. The time the dog is required to be leashed is when leaving/returning home to/from the car.

HOW MANY DOGS ATTEND EACH DAY?

Each day varies. Many dogs have set schedules and can be expected to attend certain days each week while others may add on. Based upon the variety of sizes, we only take a certain number of dogs each day and can reach capacity in the car. Generally, the range is between 10-20.

HOW CAN I CHECK ON MY PET DURING THEIR STAY?

We are available most hours to respond to any text, email or phone call so you can stay in touch. We also can send photos and regular updates throughout your pets stay. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram where we share our daily stories.

WHAT DO I NEED TO SUPPLY FOR OVERNIGHT BOARDING?

We ask that you supply your pets food with the appropriate amount for the duration of their stay. All medical and dietary needs. Please no personal items such as toys or blankets.

MY PET HAS A SPECIAL DIET. CAN THEIR NEEDS BE ACCOMMODATED?

Yes we will take care of most dietary needs your pet has. Please be sure to inform us of all dietary and medical needs before your pets scheduled stay.

WHERE DO THE DOGS SLEEP WHEN BOARDING?

The dogs sleep in the dog-dedicated room, which has a variety of couches, cushions, crates, and floor space for them based on their comfort level. They are monitored by staff on camera and have the creature comforts of television white noise, heating and cooling, and fresh water available at all times.

DO YOU OFFER OTHER SERVICES OTHER THAN PLAY GROUPS AND BOARDING?

At this time play groups and boarding are the only services we offer. We are going to be expanding services including walks, client home sitting and trail hikes in the future.
Updates on new services will be posted on our website and through our client email announcements.

DO YOU OFFER TRAINING OR GROOMING SERVICES?

Though while your dog is with us we do utilize certain training and grooming practices for their short term stay we do not offer professional training or grooming services. We do work with 'Chole's Classmates' owned by our friend Mike Dickinson. You can reach him at (602) 820-1776 and chloesclassmates.com chloesclassmates@gmail.com

DO YOU DO WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY PICKUP/DROPOFF SERVICES?

Normally all pick up & drop off services are Monday through Friday with a $25 added fee for weekend services. But we do try to accommodate as much as possible depending on each scenario.

ARE ALL BREEDS PERMITTED?

Yes, Hudson Hounds welcomes all breeds and sizes of dogs. Each dog must pass the necessary trials and we do our best to communicate what we feel would be the best fit for the dog based on their size, comfort level, and socializing patterns.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Since our dogs interact in an all-day play environment, it’s important for them to get along well with others. We require that your pup first complete the trial process so we can see how they interact with other dogs and people.

To maintain our incredibly high safety standards and satisfaction ratings, we require your pup to be:

  • At least four months old

  • Spayed or neutered (if six months old or older)

  • Current on Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccines*

  • Flea/tick-free and in good overall health

  • Free of wounds or stitches of any kind

  • Wearing a quick-release collar

  • Friendly with other dogs and people

  • Able to pass our Interview and trial day(s)

  • Oral Bordetella accepted if given within last six months. Injectable or intra-nasal accepted if given within last twelve months
